As a member of the Georgia Prison Wardens' Association, I will…

- Uphold the constitutions and laws of the United States and the State of Georgia and the laws of all governmental units therein, and never be a party to their evasion

- Conduct and present myself both privately and publicly in such a manner as to enhance public confidence in my profession as a prison warden.

- Ensure that professional responsibility and objectivity take precedence over my personal convenience or biases; appreciate the inherent worth of each individual; and when consistent with my obligation to my agency, to society, and to the Law, maintain in strict confidence any personal revelations given to me.

- Guard against placing myself in a position in which any person can expect special consideration or in which the public can reasonably assume special consideration is given, and neither solicit or accept any gift or favor which might reasonably be construed as influencing the performance of my official duties.

- Dedicate myself to enhancing my professional skills and knowledge an encouraging public awareness and acceptance of the Department of Corrections, its missions and goals, as well as my profession.

- Cooperate with members of my profession and related agencies.

- Recognize my office as a symbol of public faith and accept it as a public trust. I will exhibit professional and personal maturity, never exceed the authority entrusted to me, nor use that authority in an abusive manner.
